Needed just one more creature

Loved this science fiction landmark, but would have preferred to see just one more "giant" specimen of the animal kingdom that could have acted as a potential a threat to Scott's survival.

The giant spider in this movie is the best I've ever seen, but I would have replaced it with a rat in the scene where Scott first sees it scamper out from inside the crate and scuttle across the floor.

It would have been realistic (a rat in a basement), and it would have allowed a cool opportunity to behold another predator whom Scott had to be fearfully cautious of.

A small matter (no pun intended), but is anybody else in agreement?
