Was this based on a true story?
I got the impression at the beginning of the movie when the narration started.
Are there any articles archived on the Internet about Scott Carey? I looked but couldn't find any.

actually, it is a story based on an urban myth. That means there is no proof it ever happened but the story came from long ago about a man that was exposed to radiation and shrunk a few inches every week. Finally he got so small that his wife made him move into a dollhouse for his own safety. the family went on with their lives and started to see the shrunken man ( who ended up shrinking till he was about 1-2" tall) more as a family pet then as a husband and father.
Finally , a few years later the wife remarried and gave the shrunken man to her youngest daughter. She was 14 at the time. Rumor has it that the shrunken fella is still alive today and is now taken care of by his granddaughter.
Of course this is an urban legend so it may or may not be true.
Can you imagine if it really is true though? what a life the shrunken man must have had. I wonder how he was treated by those that took care of him. You think they expected him to earn his keep?
What are your thoughts? what if it really happened!
I knew it wasn't true. I just wanted to see if someone would take me seriously. :giggle:
But, you know, I did get so caught up in it that I began to wonder what it would be like if it could indeed happen. I don't know what to say other than that'd be pretty messed up.
You think it would be messed up huh? I guess it would in alot of ways. LOL
still it would be interesting for all involved. I like to imagine 'what if' and if it were to happen to me, I would make the most of it..in fact, Id try to enjoy it! I know it would be weird at first but after awhile, with a nice girlfriend, I think it could be an adventure.
What about you.. would you ever be interested in having a guy that you liked becoming smaller and smaller till one day, he is small enough to fit in a matchbox? What would you do with this man? Over time, how would you treat him? What if he had a mind of his own and didnt always want to listen to the requests of his benefector! :)
Who knows,it could and might happen in the world we live in! Stranger things have happened. :)
Well, no. I wouldn't be interested in it happening, but if I had a guy and this did happen to him I'd continue loving him. He's still human with a human soul, after all. I suppose when he got too small I'd carry him around in a match box as I think it would be the safest way. In the meantime try to find some way to reverse it.
I can't believe I just answered that.
I think its very cute that you are answering this angel! In some way, Maybe very remote, you might liek this to happen to a bf/ lover? I think so. Maybe a little. :)
If you enjoyed the movie that much and thought the tiny scott carey was cute, I am certain you could get used to carrying around a tiny bf in a matchbox! How cute!
I know from my perspective, Id love to become a tiny match sized guy, looked after by a giantess girlfriend. i probably would stop liking the idea after a short while of being picked up and manhandled for a few days. I just have always found the concept to be very appealing. Its not that I would want to stay at that height forever...Id want to grow back some day. I just think a year or two at the size of scott carey when hes tiny would be an incredible experience for an adventurous fellow and for his equally adventurous giant girlfriend!
Sign me up for the experiment! How bad could it be. :) LOL

I wonder what would happen if some sort of pandemic were to cause almost all of humanity to shrink down to 1/72 of their size in a year and a half.

How much "keep" do you think a guy that size would have to earn? He certainly wouldn't eat much. And he could wear old G.I. Joe clothes and stuff.

Is he getting smaller or is the world getting bigger!

shareWhat would I do with half a bridge? Use it when someone tells me to take a long walk of a short pier? If I did buy this bridge and you gave me the half off, would you at least provide me with contact information with the person who has the other half? WOuld this bridge fit in my Toyota Corolla?

Yep it is true. Helen Reddy even sang a song about it. The details are a little different though...he sneaked into the room of a girl named Angie. Listen to the song Angie Baby.
