Whattaya Gotta Do To Get This On DVD?

I've seen movies far worse than this on DVD--"far worse," as in dull and boring. "The Giant Claw" is a scream from start to finish, whether one's giggling at the legendary special effects, or guffawing at the awesomely unnatural dialog (be it scientific jargon or romance). Oh, the poor actors try, but there's nothing anyone can do to stop this monster turkey.

"Reptilicus" is on DVD. "The Black Scorpion" is on DVD. Where's "The Giant Claw?" I don't want my VHS to finally wear out...

Yeah! Where's the DVD, or VHS for that matter.

Try eBay. I once owned a copy of The Giant Claw on VHS. No, I didnt tape it off of tv, nor was it a bootleg. I bought it in a videostore YEARS ago when the VCR was king. Way before DVD players. I eventually sold my copy on eBay in order to help pay for a vacation.

I just bought this. Windowboxed throughout, so no edges are cut out.

And resolution is better than the pretty good DVD-R I had which was either from vid or LD. This is video, but must be a master as it's WB'd.

Pro menu design.

Sci Fi Station has it on its website (scifistation.com) for $18.75 (includes S&H). Haven't seen it so can't vouch for its quality, but not a bootleg.

I've never dealt with this site, but never saw anything negative about them on any IMDb board. They say their prints come from private collectors and like sources, so who knows? I've been trying to find out something about the quality of their DVDs. One day I may invest the money for one title as a try-out. I think we can expend 20 bucks as an experiment. If anyone has information on SciFi Station's product, though, your input would be welcome!

Nevermind the bootlegs - Sony/Columbia/Tristar is officially releasing this to Region 1 DVD this fall along with THE WEREWOLF and CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN.

All I can say is that it's about damned time.
