Anyone else go through this? ... I think this is why some movies you need to totally throw out the rating when gauging how good of a movie it may be. Cult movies definitely fall into this category.
I gave it a little thought and I'm willing to put it on the table for comment.
IMDB could simply open the rating scale from -10 ... 0 ... 10. As long as the 'rater' is advised he is judging the movie between two extremes ... '0' being a movie of no value and '10' being the greatest movie since the invention of sliced bread
(which is the current system). Then, the rater could also give the movie a negetive rating, if he chose, to signify a movie that was so bad but had cult qualities.
In the end IMDB could,
as it presently does, tampper the effect of the rogue voter through its wghtd average.
