Has this ever been performed as a Stage Play?

It certainly could. Have there ever been any theatre groups that considered doing it?

Certain details in the script would have to be updated, but I don't see that as a major problem.

It has that interesting potential and dramatic intensity, that would make for a compelling stage presentation.

Yes, it's done by local theater companies often.

Yes, it has been done on stage. There is actually a stage version of it, two actually, with some changes in dialogue and such. The intermission is right before the Guard comes in after he has heard the "fight" between 3 and 8.

A single setting with a table and 12 chairs, perfect for a little theater group.

One of Robert Vaughn's last performances was in an English stage production of "Twelve Angry Men" in which he played the oldest juror.

It was actually adapted into a stage play in 1955, just a year after the original Studio One teleplay. It's been done a lot since, often modified for time and place.

If done today, there would be a few women on the jury, which is fine.

Only, we'd need a new title, other than, 8 ANGRY MEN & 4 DEPRESSED WOMEN.

12 ANGRY JURORS?

I proposed the idea to a theatre group I was with. They liked it, but it got put 'on hold'.

Hope Theatre Groups consider it, being so timeless and still topical.
