I had to squint...

Saw this on MeTV this morning (its debut) and I had to squint a little bit to recognize Robert Culp when he first came on scene--the biggest thing maybe was that it looked like he had some seriously protruding front top teeth that I'm guessing he had corrected in the coming years--plus his manner was a lot more subdued (and slightly disheveled) than the way he would come to play his characters in the coming years...

They may have been inadvertently adding to the show's realism by not having his teeth fixed. From what I've heard, dentists and/orthodontists were virtually nonexistent in the Old West, and those actors should have had more teeth out than in.

Also watched this morning. Didn't realize MeTV started telecasting last week
or I would have probably watched then also. I watched the show when it originally
aired. I must be getting old as I had forgotten that Hoby was supposed to be a
Texas Ranger. lol

I may or may not watch Have Gun Will Travel (which I do like) because it seems
they are starting in the middle of the series. I have previously watched all of
the episodes on VHS tapes. Now, though, I have all of the episodes on DVD and
am looking forward to viewing. Nostalgia: ain't it grand?

I also just found out that it's on, and only missed the 1st two. Could have been worse.
I was too young in the 50's to remember the 1st run, but by the mid 60's it had been revived by Channel 5 in Chicago, during Culp's new popularity from I Spy. I was already a night owl, so I remember its post-midnight airings. I had also forgotten Hoby being a Texas Ranger, but then again I may not have even known what one was then. I would often go to bed with the closing theme repeating in my head, and it was amazing to hear it again, going from vaguely familiar to "can't forget it".
And yes, we are getting old, at least!
