TCOT Desperate Daughter

This one is noteworthy in several respects, but for me is most interesting in its recalling - mostly through the names - of the film 'Lady From Shanghai'. There's a rich, not especially pleasant, guy named Bannister, who is crippled and has a beautiful, younger, and exotic wife. The wife's name is Lisa, which recalls Elsa Bannister in 'Shanghai.' BTW the rich guy here is not an attorney, but some sort of tycoon in the race horse business. Other similarities: a handsome Man Friday who has an eye for the rich guy's wife, and there's also a mysterious, eccentric partner, of sorts. And both films have a murder and subsequent trial. There the similarities more or less end. For example, there's no daughter in the movie, but the daughter is a prominent character here.
