(Accurate) "Black Friday" reference...!

At the beginning of the episode, The Case of the Wandering Widow, which I viewed today, some character laments that, due to certain looming negative developments in his world, "Today is Black Friday..." Coincidentally, today, as I was watching the episode, IS (well, now WAS) Black Friday, it being the notoriously chaotic day after Thanksgiving when shoppers go nuts...(Sounds like a taste of The Twilight Zone, which comes on afterwards here, leaked into PM...

What was the context of it use? It turns out that the term is quite old, having been coined in reference to the large number of people on the streets the day after Thanksgiving.

I just saw that episode, too...with annoying "Gilbert" from Leave it to Beaver as an annoying little military school cadet, still with that annoying way of talking.

And seeing the Leech Woman as the "wandering widow" was interesting. The reveal of the killer was interesting, too. The most obvious suspect, this time!

As for the Black Friday reference, I think it was in reference to the release of the "widow's" ex-husband, who'd been convicted of murdering her then-present husband. With him released, that meant suspicion was thrown on all those who benefited from the death of her second husband, including the man who made the black Friday remark.
