TCOT Golden Oranges - Don Anderson

TCOT Golden Oranges was the morning episode today.

One the uncredited extras appearing in this episode was Don Anderson. He played two different characters, "courtroom spectator" and "bailiff with dog."

Don appeared in 127 PM episodes, all in extra roles, and quite often he had two roles in the same episode.

I thought using one actor for two different parts went out with the 13 chapter serials, but it looks like it continued into TV in the 1960s. That is a good way to cut down on the number of extras that had to be hired for each episode, and the viewers weren't going to notice. I sure didn't until I happened to check the full cast list this morning and saw Don's name as uncredited with two different parts.

Reasons for others to see TCOT Golden Oranges

A pre-Sergio Leone, Lee van Cleef, still looking for the price of a meal, had a colorless role as a murder suspect.

Another Western vet, Arthur Hunnicutt, had a larger, flashier role as a cantankerous rube (not a stretch for Art).

Lee Miller who plays Sgt. Brice and others appears in many episodes. Sometimes he is uncredited.

Miller's role was usually between an extra and playing a real character. Brice was referred to by name and he may have had a line or 2 but that's it.

Re: extras used in the PM series. I ofen wondered who the lady was sitting in the gallery (you can see her sitting directly behind William Talman in the opening credits of season one).
It seems she appeared in the majority of the shows right up to the last season.
Anyone know who she is....
