Were Ed Nelson and Dennis Patrick related?

While watching TCOT Missing Button, I looked up Ed Nelson's biography and saw he only was in two episodes of Perry Mason. I could have sworn he also had been in an episode called TCOT Golfer's Gambit, playing a golf course resident pro who'd been kicked off the pro tour for gambling. Turns out that character, Chick Farley, had been played by Dennis Patrick and he (Patrick) had been in three other PM episodes as well.

Googling both actors' photos shows a striking resemblance, as if they were brothers. Anyone know if these two men were related?

Ed Nelson and Dennis Patrick were not related.

The resemblance between the two actors is mentioned by a few posters on Dennis Patrick's IMDb board.

They do look alike. If they were related, Patrick would have been Ed's evil-looking older brother.

I have to agree with the other posters. I thought they were the same person so yeah, the resemblance is striking.

Heh. When I was younger, I confused the two myself. After seeing them in so many shows, however, I have no problem distinguishing them anymore.
