Today's ep was nuts.

It was a Bart episode and he rolls into town in a storm and this dude immediately becomes his best friend. He leaves at night because for some reason Maverick is always trying to leave for trips at night. He gets attacked by a mountain lion and his new best friend moves him into his house after he breaks his leg. The dude's wife falls in love with him and she's crazy. She eventually shoots her husband and the ranch hands want to lynch him for it. The sheriff is complicit in this and ends up resigning in disgust of his actions. The dead man's mistress finds out his wife killed him and so she kills her. She eventually comes clean about that as they're about to hang Maverick. She doesn't get punished for her murder, nobody seems to care about that. Then Maverick steals somebody's horse and rides the hell out of there. The whole thing was bonkers.
