FIRST EPISODE WITH VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN ENDING CREDITS?

Hello to All,
I just watched the episode titled, "The Day They Hanged Bret Maverick". In the closing credits they featured the Maverick theme music with the lyrics- "Who is the tall dark stranger there..." etc.
Was this the first episode to have the lyrics sung?
Thanks for your time.

Yes... The Day They Hanged Bret Maverick is the first vocal performance.

And this is also the only unique vocal version for that episode.
It had a clipity clop sound in the background.

There were four versions of the Maverick song.

1- The instrumental for the first season and part of the second.

2- The one vocal version for the "The Day They Hanged Bret Maverick"

3- The vocal version for most of the second and then all of the third and fourth.

4- The fifth season version you heard a bell ring after:
"River Boat Ring your Bell"

And a horn after:
"Fare Thee Well Annabelle"
