Just watched "You Can't Beat the Percentage" last weekend DVR'd from encore western.

I haven't seen Maverick for probably 40 years and it is nice to see it.

My question is this: What is the tie that Bart wears?

My best guess is a bow tie with the ends tucked in the collar. It looks pretty good, is that what it is? Or is there some other tie that he has?

At the beginning of "A Tale of Three Cities" the morning after he is robbed, he has it untied. It appears to be a black silk batwing bow tie. I did not find a picture of one exactly like it, but here is a picture of a bat wing tie.
