Favorite Bart episodes

Which are your favorite episodes featuring Bart? I'm excluding episodes from this list where two Mavericks split time (Bart with Bret or Beau).

These are my five favorites:
1) The Art Lovers--Clever plot centering around theft of the Mona Lisa.
2) A Technical Error--Doc Holliday: "You're voting to rob your own bank."
3) The Savage Hills--Bart meets Samantha Crawford, much to his frustration.
4) Marshal Maverick--John Dehner guests as Wyatt Earp, sort of.
5) Hadley's Hunters--OK plot, but memorable for cameos by several Warner Brothers western stars.

The three best for my money were The People's Choice (which accurately predicted Jack Kelly's later political career), Arizona Black Maria (hilariously funny), and Passage to Fort Doom (the only episode of the series' fist three years written specifically for Jack Kelly). Three Queens Full (a hilarious spoof of Bonanza) is another good Bart episode.

Those were good, too.

I thought the funniest thing about "The People's Choice" was when Bart found out he was running as a Reform Party candidate. A bit of irony there.

A few more good Bart episodes: Last Stop Oblivion, The Third Rider, Trooper Maverick, Betrayal, Destination Devil's Flats, and The Devil's Necklace (the only two parter in show history).

Any episode with Bart & Peter Breck as Doc Holliday.

"Oh Mother, Godfrey loves me - he put me in the shower!!" - Irene Bullock

The Prey Of the Cat is by far my favourite. It's utter brilliance from start to finish and plays out like a Hitchcock thriller not much room for comedy in this one.

'High Card Hangs' is another as it shows another side to Dandy Jim other than the smart alec con man.

'The Burning Sky' Is also brilliant with Bart and a 5 others under seige in the scorching desert by bandits masquerading as Indians with limited water and limited ammunition.

Growing old is mandatory, Growing UP is optional

Prey of the Cat was unusual for Maverick in that it was a straight drama episode. By the time it aired the show had moved to having heavy elements of comedy but this one is grim and foreboding all the way. Quite a change of pace for Maverick.

High Card Hangs is also an interesting episode in that we see a difference in Dandy Jim's relationship with the Maverick brothers. He's always antagonistic and scheming towards Bret but in HCH he's loyal and friendly with Bart.

The Burning Sky follows a similar plotline with many other Bart episodes. Jack Kelly always seemed to get a lot of scripts where Bart took an ill-fated stagecoach ride.

My absolute favorites so far

Savage Hills: Bart & Samantha had terrific chemistry (even more so than Bret & Sam). Loved every moment of the two of them together and can't believe this was the only episode we got (not counting their small but also wonderful scene in Sunny Acres). How could WB waste such perfect chemistry?

Prey of the Cat Maverick does Noir. I love that this episode never lets up and stays a straight drama right to the end and I think Kelly was wonderful here showing his fear and vulnerability.

Going to also add Tale of Three Cities now that I finally had the chance to see it. Probably my favorite of Bart's pure comic episodes. This one is very cute. I notice the same writer also wrote People's Choice which was another very good Bart episode.
