The guy who played the sheriff
He looked just like Patrick Warburton. It was uncanny how much they looked alike I had to look it up to see if it was his father or something.

I see a vague resemblance to Patrick Warburton but don't think it's anywhere near as strong as you found it. They're more similar physical types than true look-alikes.
I've seen Don Megowan in a number of films and TV shows but always associate him with his lead role in 1962's robot talkfest, THE CREATION OF THE HUMANOIDS. One of those stolid, journeyman actors who found a niche and took whatever came along.
When I looked up Mr. Megowan's credits they were numerous. I couldn't recall seeing him before. So, when I saw him and I noticed what I considered to be a resemblance--I wanted to make note of it.
I will keep an eye out for the other movie, The Creation of the Humanoids.

You should check out the board for CREATION OF THE HUMANOIDS. Only one thread, everybody talking about how the movie is better than its rep. I went there yesterday after being inspired by your Don Megowan post here.
shareHe was also quite good as the bald headed nemisis of Tarzan in TARZAN AND THE VALLEY OF GOLD. As for me I always though he looked and sounded like Rod Cameron.
shareA couple of years late in responding to the original post but YES! I did think of Patrick Warburton too. Megowan I thought could've been a descendant he reminded me so much of him. The deep voice, the height, the big physical presence...etc.
shareThought Don Megowan just played big dudes with deep voices until I saw his starring performance in Creation Of The Humanoids. He had solid acting talent, in my very humble opinion. Maybe his height hurt his chances with most moviemakers. That's a shame.
shareYes Don was a big burly man. He also played the Creature on land in The Creature Walks Among Us. He made that character believable.
shareMegowan made me think of Guinn "Big Boy" Williams, but with no sense of humour.
