Stupid as it may seem!

This needs to be remake!!! By Peter jackson in my opinion.

Re-made? By Peter Jackson, one of the worst directors working. I don't think so.

reply

Stupid it is!

I dunno . . . CGI whales leaping high in the sky . . . could work. But only if real craftsmen and not video geme hacks do it.

reply

Why? He destroyed King Kong. The joke about Ahab's female love interest that someone else posted in here somewhere would likely come true if the film were ever remade today in this politically correct world. Starbuck would also likely be cast as a woman too. Hell, that's been done somewhere else already anyhow! Ishmael would probably be portrayed as gay or something.

reply

They already tried a re-make with Patrick Stewart in a cable version. It blew so badly, it made one realize it can't be done.

reply

Not stupid at all. I usually despise remakes but Moby Dick? It deserves as many remakes as anyone wants. Even high school and grade school plays should produce this classic. You've nothing to be embarrassed by. Good thinking!

Daniel Day Lewis is a good choice. Peter Jackson as director? Absolutely, unequivocally, NO. His version of King Kong was a bloated mess with absolutely stupid scenes like King Kong sliding around on a frozen pond. I hope he comes nowhere near Moby Dick in his lifetime.

Your header after "subject" says it all! No more need be said!

If Peter Jackson remade "Moby Dick," I don't know if it would be a better movie (I doubt it), or more moving (I really doubt it), but it would be longer.

Thank you.

What do you mean "needs"? Why? What's wrong with the original?

yeah, i find it very boring, though crude portait of people, not typical for 50s - woman with beard etc are stunning
