Who would be a good choice for Ahab today?

I personally think Brian Cranston would be good.

Cranston, Cranston and Cranston

You gotta give him a few years but I always thought Benedict Cumberbatch would make a great Ahab, although how do you deny DDL the role if you can get him.

Agreed.

What we do in life echoes in eternity Russell Crowe as General Maximus in Gladiator (2000)

Agreed, although we'd presumably see a version in which Blessed's Ahab defeats Moby Dick simply by shouting at him!

To IMDB, or not to IMDB - because I've got some questions.

Some actors come to my mind:

Ian McKellen, although I think he's too old to play Ahab.

Gary Oldman.

Jeremy Irons.

Ron Perlman.

Robert De Niro.

Anthony Hopkins.

Liam Neeson.

Malcolm McDowell.

Nobody could be better than Gregory Peck!!
