Two Obnoxious Characters

The characters played by Arthur O'Connell (Gordon Walker) and Henry Daniell (Bill Ogden)were truly obnoxious in my view. As a long time management consultant in business, I've come across managers and staff people like those two characters many times. I don't know how to describe them other than arrogant, insensitive, effeminate and obnoxious. When they offer Peck(Tom Rath) the same modest salary he was currently earning for s position reporting directly or indirectly to the CEO, I felt like Rath should tell them to take their offer and pound it up their fxxxucxxking asxs." But of course, Mr. Rath is too smooth and mannerly to do something like that. So he puts up with the insult or the ploy, doesn't stoop to their level, and looks to the bigger picture- the opportunity to work for a famous and well-respected CEO with the likelihood of a decent salary and future. .

O'Connell and Daniell did a good acting job; I'll say that.

They sure did, and I think the fact you started a whole new thread on this board just to discuss their characters is a great testament TO their good acting. ;-)

And the "oomph" conversation, with Peck's sarcastic use of the word, is pretty funny, one of my favorite scenes.
