Great photography and use of color
Today's film makers need to take a lesson.
shareI've watched this film a dozen times.
Everything about it is visually and audibly stunning.
It ought to be required watching for film students.
The cinematography is beyond exceptional, especially the long still landscape shots, impossible to ignore.
No obvious accolades to my knowledge.
I'd like to think I just missed them.
I'm watching it, I agree the location shots are stunning!
shareI know I'm bumping an old comment but I just saw this on TCM 2/11/2014 for the first time and I completely agree. I was thinking that this was kind of like the "small" version of a David Lean film, really excellent cinematography but not by accident; rather, it's a purposeful and indispensable part of the story itself.
shareI usually don't notice things like that but this time I have to agree the look of the movie was simply stunning. The look was so visually pleasing, there are times I wanted to step into the screen and be in it; just to look around and take it all in.
Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
Love the opening sequence filmed at Samantha the goose's perspective toward Little Jess, her nemesis. Beautiful farm setting. Wish 1862 were so ideal.
-- What would Joan say? --
I was initially thinking I must have been lucky too see some sort of restored print of the film, but judged from comments such as all of the above, it was clearly just a beautifully filmed movie.🐭
