Was Brando channeling Dan Duryea in this film?
Several times I swear I heard Brando sounding exactly like Dan Duryea. Did he study Duryea's voice and intonation before doing this part?
Brando has always sounded like Dan Duryea. Both men had thin, nasally, fey sounding voices, not deep and masculine like Robert Mitchum or Bea Arthur.
