I generally don't like remakes, but since they're doing one, the only two I can picture in the roles are Harry Connick, Jr. and Hugh Jackman.

I'm not against the idea of a remake in general, but those two actors do not inspire much interest. They're kind of bland and unappealing. The worst prospect though is the suggestion that some have made of Nathan Lane as Nicely-Nicely. I don't mean to be a hater but I cannot stand anything about that man, particularly his voice, especially compared to the wonderful Stubby Kaye.
I think it would be best to just leave this one alone with no remake.
