Most Irritating Theme Song Ever?

Actually the end credits, it's like one of those abominable commercial ad 'jingles' that gets stuck in your head and won't go away. The man who wrote this should be castrated...slowly...with a dull knife.

Sorry, but the Robin Hood theme is nothing less than iconic. For those of us who were kids in the '50s, it was sing-along time every week. (And remember, in spite of the writers sneaking in some mature thematic material, —which makes it hold up for us ex-kids today, —it was essentially a kids' show.)

I'd like to be a pessimist, but this is a luxury I cannot afford.

I was a child in the '50s. Until this year I hadn't seen Robin Hood since the early '60s(?). I'm proud to say I still remembered the words of the theme song after all those years before hearing it again recently.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, with his band of men
Feared by the bad, loved by the good
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood

So there!

He called the greatest archers to a tavern on the green;
They vowed to help the people of the King.
They handled all the trouble on the English country scene
And still found plenty of time to sing.

Or a spoon perhaps?
The real scary thing about this song is just how its lasted and is still being sung decades after it was written by kids who`s parents wern`t alive when the series was running.

The theme song became famous enough to be parodied in movies. "The Mouse the Roared" being one.

And on TV as the theme for the Monty Python "Dennis Moore" sketch.

True story. Friend of mine runs a comic book /used bookstore. His son is a huge Robin Hood fan and they requested for his wedding that the DJ play the theme from Robin Hood for the bride. As in "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams.

Oh no. She got THIS theme because the DJ was so old it was the only Robin Hood theme he knew about, so that's the track he dug up. (But hey, it was a lot more memorable than Bryan Adams in this case!)

Interesting. To many music fans today, a poppish soft rock song from 1991 would probably be considered rather quaint and outdated.

LOL!

I know, it's been 20 years since I heard that story, and it still cracks me up!

Hahahaha ☺...one of the best wedding stories ever! 👍👍👍

And friendly greetings to that old DJ.
The real Robin Hood will always be 💚 Richard Greene 💚 for me.
That was passion and heroism, that was friendship and the true spirit of Robin Hood! ♥♥♥

Here's again the English version.

The intro NEEDS to start with Richard Greene shooting the arrow!

No, the most irritating theme song ever would be "Faith of the Heart" on Star Trek: Enterprise.
