This and Ivanhoe

I just re-read Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. First time in over 40 years. Actually listened to it on CD. I was pleased to (re)learn that the writers of this series were faithful to Scott's incarnation and characterization of Robin of Locksley. Ivanhoe and this series are just so enjoyable.
I would be interested in hearing from other posters who are familiar with Scott and their opinions as it relates to this series. Even if you disagree.

You made me look (here at IMDB)! Wow! I had no idea Roger Moore did an Ivanhoe TV series in 1958!! Thank you Lava-Rocks.

Gotta wonder why post # 2 above was deleted by an administrator.

It was an innocuous post by Lava-Rocks, who informed the board that Roger Moore made a series entitled Ivanhoe in 1958

I guess we'll never know, now.

Lava-Rocks may have deleted the post himself. Maybe he was trying to clear his online tracks for some reason.

I don't remember this show really getting into the Saxon vs. Norman dynamic that was part of the Robin Hood characterization in "Ivanhoe."
