shareYes, that was filmed out near Chatsworth and Thousand Oaks at the western end of San Fernando Valley in southern California, doubling for Georgia.
The airport where the Lockheed T-33A jet fighter scenes were filmed with Rex Reason was Van Nuys Airport in San Fernando Valley. The plane was on loan from the U.S. Air Force at Edwards AFB, and was actually piloted by an Air Force pilot, "Crew Chief Glenn Eckenboy" as it was stenciled on the jet plane if you have closeup movie stills, you can read it for yourself.
