There is something about TIE that endures;
perhaps,a literate script may be the clue.
Exeter,of course,is a key player in all of this,as Michael Rennie was in the classic:the Day The Earth Stood Still~

Michael Rennie is awesome, and he also plays The Keeper in an early episode of Lost in Space, back during the first season when they actually put forth some effort to make interesting sci-fi adventures. His two-parter was pretty neat.

Rennie was quite the actor:Versatile in everyway.

There was ART back then in the 50's;
a certain technique,jargon and style that was perhaps wedded to the culture.

Yes,I believe there is poignancy !
What's amazing to me is the fact that these aliens are basically enmity towards the Earthlings but out of this bunch emerges the charismatic Exeter...truly an anomaly.And he may even transcend many HUMANS who really have no humanity but the nobler Exeter "breaks the MOLD"
