I won't argue if this is a good or bad movie but for a 1950's sifi movie it seemd to have some the best production values I have seen from the 50's.
The only movie that might beat it is "War of the worlds".

They were quite original and striking for the time, and is now a retro-future 50's staple of pulp Sci-fi.
Deserves credit for being one of the very first color space operas.
I still wonder about a remake - with far more time on the doomed planet, and a real suspenseful race back to the ship before the planet goes.
