Georgia Mansion
I've always wondered about the "Georgia mansion" used in the exterior shots. Does anyone know the true location and/or back stories about it?
shareIt was a "mansion" on the Universal back lot, originally built for a Civil War movie. It's also in CREATURE WALKS AMONG US and lots of other movies.

I wondered about that mansion for decades.
I thought it was a peculiar choice for an alien refuge. I even theorized that it might be a local GA "vanity" rental.
I recently moved from New York City to South Carolina and fantasized about the possibility of making a little pilgrimage to see it. Guess I won't be visiting it any time soon.
