I remember spotting him in 'Westworld' as one of the guests who was interviewed on leaving the resort. I enjoyed his performance in 'This Island Earth'. Dig that crazy mixed up plumbing.

Yes, Mr. Nichols was a superb character actor; I remember him as one of the affluent cowboys in "Giant," and I just saw him as a U.S. Army Air Force member in the Steve McQueen World War II film, "The War Lover."

Requiem aeternam, Mr. Nichols.

Ah, Robert Nichols---Who could ever forget him in a small but memorable role
as Mr. Nickerson, the drunken lothario who hits on poor Lois Nettleton in
"Come Fly With Me" (1963). (Never fear, Karl Malden comes to her rescue and
puts Mr. Nichols in his seat and warns him to stay there and not to leave until
the plane lands.)
