People comment on many good performances in this movie, but so far no one has mentioned the two young boys mother. She does a really excellent job of being a mother trying to hold herself together to help the police find her boys, while constantly teetering on the edge of total hysterical collapse. One of the many excellent performances in an excellent movie.

Yes, the part could have been written for her to just be freaking out hysterically, but instead they went for low-key, and the actress was very good at playing it restrained. One of many good performances that make this a superior movie.
