Underated

I think it's adorable and I love Tashlin's cartoon-like approach.

Even though it might have been even more touching if 'Susan' was made a few years later, I've always enjoyed it. The only flaw is the stage bound nature of the presentation. A bit more location work would have helped a lot.

Hi, Mark-129. Why do you think it would have been "even more touching", had it been made a few years later?

I see your point, but I like the lack of location work as it adds to the overall cartoonish/surreal effect.

First, I really like this film.
What I meant about it being filmed a few years later is that the story belongs more to the 50s that the swinging 60s. Had it been produced in say '58, the screenwriters might have had more freedom to let Susan and Mark be a bit more honest about their unorthodox relationship. A simple semi-serious moment when they just say how they feel would have added another star to my review.
Even though this is a farce, I guess I'm just a romantic at heart.
Thanks for asking.

You're absolutely right, Mark. The world needs more romantics. You're welcome. 
