SUSAN SLEPT HERE
I wonder why this movie has never been in print for the public to purchase?

It is, or at least was, if you were prepared for it. It was released on Laserdisc a few years ago, I happen to own it. It is part of my Christmas watching traditions now.
Great flick.
Thanks for your response, I just wonder if they will ever bring it out on DVD? Where are you located I never heard of it being out in any form. I am glad to know someone else likes this movie besides me. Some of the comments I read in the data base were not very favorable for this movie. I ask where you live because another person I have emailed with in Canada has got a hold of some movies that have not been released here in the US. Nice to hear from you and thanks again.

I just keep watching and checking. Glad to know others liked this movie too. Thanks for your response.

I loved this movie. I only saw it once on TCM about 10 or 11 years ago and haven't seen it since, but I remember thinking it was a lot of fun. Here's hoping they release it on DVD.
shareI am so glad to know there are others out there who enjoy some of these old flicks, sometimes a little hoaky but good entertainment. Thanks for your reply. Maybe one day they will set this one free and we can buy a copy.

If you all want the DVD go to TCM (turner classic movies) website (turnerclassicmovies.com) and go to the search bar at the top of the website and type in susan slept here and if you go to the right side of the of website it says that you can vote to have the movie put on DVD the more votes the more chances it will get to be put on DVD.
Phantom: Christine I love you.
Thanks to all of you, lovers of "Susan slept here" especialy Andra88, who gave me hope in possessing as soon as possible, that film on vhs or dvd. The most chocking thing about "Susan", I already had it registered on vhs via a tv channel. I kept it as one of the most precious vhs I have. Both actors I love; the colours are so beautifull, as you don't see that quality to-day. And the music, one of my favorite song I adore: "Hold my hand" by Don(Dan) Cornell. It reminds me so wonderfull souvenirs...and a most unhappy one. Not "long ago...and far away" my old video made a terrible mess of it! I could have beaten myself... I Could'nt find another copy anywhere. I though of something like sending thousands of messages to those who make them vhs or dvd's and urge them to press copies of "Susan slept here". But Andrea88 had the brightest and right answer in showing us how to proceed in having "Susan" in our hands, the sooner the better. Thank you Andrea88 and you all! [email protected]

No probelm! It is one of the best movies ever made! Debbie Reynolds could noth ave been better. I seriously hope they make it into a dvd. My mom won't let me use her credit card on the internet, and I wont be 19 till december of next year... Till then I will keep having to suggest the movie to TCM to play on t.v. until it comes on t.v. But thanks to everyone that votes. More votes means more chances.
Jay: [to Stacey] Dude, screw the team, I mean, you have a logo!
But, how and when will I (we) know the time and channel "Susan" will have the opportunity to enter my (our) homes? Many of you who are interested in this film, live in different States in U.S. I presume. I wonder if everybody will be able to register it via tv. As for myself, TCM will never reach me according to where I live: Montreal. Qué. Canada. Any suggestions will be most welcome, so at last, "Susan slept here" will be again part of my most precious films. Much obliged.

I'm not really bothered by the lack of a DVD since I recorded it a year or two ago. With no commercials! (Thank you TCM).
I would like a DVD version, though, since my dorm doesn't have a VCR and I can only watch movies on my laptop.

Me as well; first time I saw it, I was recording it, had a hunch about it, I was right, I love classic May-December romances so this was good.

It is available in Orange County CA right now on Time Warner Cable.
shareTHe official DVD-R is now available from Warner Archives at wbshop.com, amazon.com and other online stores.
shareI just got my copy of SSH on dvd this week and although I haven't seen the movie in, probably, 15 years, it's still just as funny as I remember.
They did a wonderful job on this DVD - the picture is very good for a movie that's over 50 years old.
The staff at Warner Archives is incredible. I'm sure they'd enjoy hearing of your satisfaction at Warner Archive Collection on Facebook. They've responded to several questions I've asked about future releases.
shareQuite right. I bought it, and though it's recorded on demand on DVD-R, it's at least a DVD-R of a pristine print, and the sound is also immaculate.
The trailer, the only extra, has some scratches on it, though it's still watchable.
I'm glad I caught all these comments -- wondered about it for years -- what a fun movie and rare to see it. An RKO Radio version of MGM, I guess. Howard Hughes, huh? I thought Alvy Moore would be the new David Wayne, but he never got the parts. I enjoyed every frame -- the scenery, the automobiles, Anne Francis as the woman scorned, the snappy dialog, the self deprecating Hollywood writer, the directing... on an on, terrific film.
I miss Big Band music and talented singers. Leonard Cohen is my idol. Civility, harmony, unity!
