Blu-ray?

Does anyone know if this movie will ever be released on Blu-ray? All we ever had growing up was the VHS. I used to watch this movie religiously and would love to have my own copy on DVD, preferably Blu-ray. I did a few searches and couldn't find any anywhere, even on Amazon, so I'm assuming it's never been released. This kind of surprises me since it's such a popular musical from back in the day.

Blu-ray, yes! But before that, it needs to be restored. I just watched it on TCM and it shows its age. What a great movie! When I was a teenager, even my male friends thought it was terrific, demonstrating that even masculine men can be terrific dancers. The barn-raising dance will never be duplicated because Hollywood doesn't appreciate the artistry involved (no explosions).

I have always looooved that scene even from the time I was a young girl. I was never a dancer, but that scene made me want to be. I'd hate to settle for the old DVD, but I might have to just so I can have it. It's just more expensive than I'm willing to pay for a low quality DVD. It's something like $14 on Amazon.

I found my DVD copy in a 4-pack of Howard Keel movies at Target. It was less than $15. Movies in the pack are "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", "Kiss Me Kate", "Showboat", and "Annie Get Your Gun."
