I find it interesting that everyone forgets Milly. Even in the movie when the reverend hears a baby it does not occur to any of the townsmen that it could possibly belong to Milly. I find that hilarious!
Sure, they could have thought it was Milly's, but when asked exactly whose it was, all the girls besides Milly said it was theirs. In 19th century sensibilities, this required a marriage if not further investigation, and fast!!
Yeah, we have to suspend disbelief a bit more on this film, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. And I happen to agree with you in that Julie Newmar (credited as Newmeyer in this film) is the best of the brides, or at least the hottest. Of course, I can never really get that image of Julie Newmar wearing that skin tight black leather cat woman suit out of my head (or do I want to).
