Longevity of Dancers

The male dancers in this movie, with the one exception of Jeff Richards who died at the age of 64, all seemingly have an affinity for a long life:

Marc Platt 100 years old.
Tommy Rall 94 years old.
Russ Tamblyn 79 years old.
Jacques d'Amboise 79 years old.

Those four are still alive in Jan. of 2014. In addition, Mike Maddox passed away in 2013 at the age of 91. Howard Keel died in 2004 at the age of 85.

I haven't checked out the women.

To further your point, Jeff Richards wasn't a dancer. He was a former baseball player.

I think this is pretty good proof that we should spend more time dancing!

I think it's safe to assume that these men stayed active as they got older. It does highlight the importance of staying active in one's senior years - be it gardening, dancing, going for long walks, or whatever.
