Want to know price of the trailer?

I'm watching the movie right now. If anyone would like to know, the price the salesman quoted was $5,345. I wonder how much it would cost today?

I usually multiply everything by 10 when comparing 1950s prices w/today's prices. Of course some things today are far more expensive when adjusted for inflation while other items and services cost less today. The inflation calculator only works for a few select prices so the X10 rule seems to work best. The trailor would be approx. 50,000-60,000 in today's dollars.

According to this Inflation Calculator

$5,345 in 1953 dollars

that same item would cost: $43,377.98
Rate of inflation change: 711.6%

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
