shareOne of the trailers used for the interior shots, with its front end removed for camera access, was spotted a few years ago in an RV storage lot in Lakewood, CA.
shareWell it did! At the end of filming, MGM gave Desi & Lucy that "New Moon" trailer as a gift. Desi moved the trailer down to the Treasure Island Mobile Home Park near Laguna. But since it was rarely used by the famous couple, Desi sold it to some private party. Flash-forward to the mid-80's,...My Father recently widowed, bought a Mobile Home at Treasure Island, but later moved to another park. One of the first things my Father pointed out as he took me on a tour of the older section of the park, was the "New Moon" trailer once used in the movie, "The Long-Long Trailer." By then, it had a screened-in awning attached to it, and it was beginning to look a bit run down. Still, it captured my undivided attention, because I'd seen the movie many times, (It being one of my Mother's favorite movies) and it was after all, the real star of the movie. Flash-forward again to the late 90's,...I was driving north on PCH coming back from Dana Point, and decided to stop at Treasure Island to take a picture of that most famous of all trailers. To my surprise, the park was nearly empty. Now owned by Merril-Lynch, it was being cleared for a Condo Development. Nobody seems to know what happened to, or the whereabouts of, that "New Moon" trailer used in the movie, "The Long-Long Trailer." I'd really like to know where it's at. All I can do is continue to investigate.

I would love to know what happened to that old Merc.
Great, great question
I have heard gossip from grips that when Sony (formerly MGM) owned The Culver Studios and used its lot as ancillary space, the trailer was stowed there.
