I have information (from what I consider to be a reliable source) about this great movie. Apparently we have been giving Michael Wayne (before his demise) a
bad rap about holding up the re-release of this movie!

The negative of "The High and The Mighty" was damaged when the vault in which it was stored was flooded. Michael Wayne dedicated a major part of his life to
having this damaged original restored! After Michael's death, John's second wife took over the task and has seen it through to completion. I am told that the restoration should be available sometime in August and that, due to currently available digital technology, it will be better than the original in terms of sharpness etc. Can't wait!!!!!!!
