Most people don't realize that this movie is the source of the classic line, "Thanks. I needed that."

It's Robert Stack's line after John Wayne slaps him to keep him from ditching the airplane unnecessarily. The actual line is: "Thanks, Dan. I...I needed that." The "Dan" was dropped long ago...

Unfortunately, the line spoken is, "Thanks. Thanks for knocking some sense into my head."

"I needed that" was never uttered. Back to Maxwell Smart.

What I had in mind was boxing the compass.
