Does anyone else really hate Mark in this movie?

Mark is sleeping with Tony's wife, and even goes as far as claiming Tony should take a few years of prison time (before he even knew about the fact that Tony was lying). So while Tony is in prison, Mark gets to keep dating her and they can live their happy lives. Don't get me wrong, I am not rationalizing Tony's horrific murder plan (and Tony ultimately gets what he deserves), but Mark comes of as such a self-righteous, egotistical, annoying idiot. Again, this is all before the knew Tony was lying about the entire scheme.

In my opinion, none of the main characters were anything to write home about. Mark, the husband and wife, the guy blackmailed into doing the killing....four losers.

My thoughts as well, but actually five losers counting Lesgate/Swann who was two different characters and a total sleaze in his own right.

Fair enough. Yup, none of those guys were anything to write home about. I guess they all deserved each other. 

It also bothered me that Mark was so keen to admit to Tony and, later, the inspector that he and Margot had had an affair when Margot clearly wanted to keep it under wraps. It’s possible that his conscience was bothering him but it can’t be denied he stood to benefit from blowing up Margot’s marriage.
