Anyone notice Hitchcock?

I just watched this movie this morning before going to work and don't know much about it so this is probably pretty well known, but did anyone notice Hitchcock in the picture? He's sitting at the table with Swann when Tony holds the picture up to show Swann. I thought that was a pretty good way to throw himself in there.

I did notice that, too. Hitchcock frequently played a little joke in his films by making cameo appearances.

There is a Wikipedia page detailing all of them:

reply

Jimmy Stewart was also in the picture.

I saw this last night and although it is only a fleeting glimpse, I can't see James Stewart. Do you mean Ray Milland? He has the same 'look' as Jimmy Stewart, and is at the table too, as he is supposed to have been at Cambridge as Swan and they went to the same college there.

reply

I had a hard time finding him in The Man Who Knew Too Much.

I will have to rewatch the movie to see that part again. How interesting.

Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

Yes, and goodbye.

Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.

I didn't, but I always look out for him in the opening few minutes of his movies as I know he does this so I had to look it up (there's a very informative Wiki page on this topic). I realised after a short while it was going to be set mainly in that living room so wondered how he would insert himself. I kicked myself when I saw him in the photo, as I had already gone past that part.

I didn't catch him when I first saw the movie. It wasn't until I watched a documentary on the DVD that I realized where his cameo was.

If you're not taking any steps forward, you're not moving at all.
