i have never seen this movie, but i have always been interested in its characters and story. i was wondering if this movie is worth buying, or should just be left on the shelves. thank you

Yes, it's worth buying, it's a classic. Besides, if you get the Legacy Collection set, it includes all three movies. (This one plus "Revenge of the Creature" and "The Creature Walks Among Us.")
