Is anyone interested in the remake set to come out this year?

Interested, yes. Positive, no.
shareI'm not optimistic either. The original, while entertaining, is not on a par with Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, etc. It could stand a remake. The trouble is that Hollywood remakes, even of imperfect movies, are always much worse.

Not always. But often.
shareThe trouble is that Hollywood remakes, even of imperfect movies, are always much worse. And despite the fact that almost all of the remakes bomb, it doesn't seem to stop them from cranking them out. When they say "we have to remake these old films for today's audience," it is quite insulting to today's audience that they can't make a good remake. share
The real problem is today's audience actually watches them enough to convince the studio execs to remake more.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. I'd rather re-watch the original any day than endure a remake. This has been one of my favorites for, oh, about 44 years or so . . .

The Creature isn't a favorite of mine, but I always enjoy it. The two sequels, though, are unbearable. And something tells me this new remake will be worse.

remake it for today's audience?? I AM in today's audience and I love Creature From The Black Lagoon from the 50's like it is and Im only 30 years old. I want to watch it a Drive-In theatre and buy a hot dog from the concession stand too!
shareIt would be so much better if, instead of remakes, the original films returned to the theaters.
