Will I ever be able to see this in 3-D?

Does anyone know if Universal has any plans to ever release the 3-D version of Creature? Other 3-D features have made the transition to DVD, I can't understand what could be holding this one back.

Personally, I think Universal should put together a double-bill of this and the original House of Wax for IMAX 3-D, with all their fancy digital 3-D technology, and release it on Halloween. Easy money and the fanboys will love you for it.

According to a recent press release, the company Sensio will be releasing this and several other Universal 3-D features on DVD. However, the system for watching them is quite expensive ($3000).

Of course, the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood will be running 10 days of the classic 3-D films of the '50s, all presented in their original clear, polaroid formats (no red/blue anaglyph). On the bill are the only known 35mm polaroid prints of CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON and REVENGE OF THE CREATURE. More info at http://www.3dfilmfest.com/

caught this yesterday at the 3d filmfest. Great picture quality, except some scenes the left eye film was darker than the right eye film, so it made for a pretty straining viewing. All in all, great experience, and Julie Adams was there to answer some questions. 14 bux a ticket, extremely well spent.
the film was also followed by a 3 stooges short that had some great 3D gags. the needle coming straight for you. Great stuff.
next week, its' DIAL M FOR MURDER!

Forget $3000. You can get field sequential glasses sets on ebay. I have CFTBL and the house of wax. They work great.

I saw this movie in 3-D yesterday in Houston, ahhh it was wonderfull. It did strain my eyes a bit, but there was some cool scenes, like when they are underwater and all the fish seem like they are coming at you. It was only 6 bucks and it was quite entertaining. Lots of people got a good laugh out because it was so cheesy.

I have this movie or a 400 ft 8 mmm film of it in 3D which i purchased in the late 1970,s + the mad magician .The 3d is good .Also saw revenge of the creature in 3D in london at a cinema round about 1979 also great!Havent looked at the 8MMM movie of the creature in 20 years is it worth anything?

The 3-D version is available on VHS, but I only found two copies online--both too pricey for me to afford! If you are reading this and you have the 3-D VHS, could you please try to sell it for less than $10 on eBay or amazon and say it's in 3-D in the description?

Just caught it today on the big screen in 3-D at the 5 Points Horrorfest (5 Points Theatre, Jacksonville, FL) and LOVED it! It was amazing! I must have seen this movie 15-20 times in my life on TV, but nothing compares to the whole 3-D big screen effect! If it ever plays anywhere near you, do whatever you can to catch it! Two claws up!!!!

Hello,

You said, and I quote: "I think Universal should put together a double-bill of this and the original House of Wax for IMAX 3-D, with all their fancy digital 3-D technology,"

Universal only owns CREATURE, not House of Wax (1953), which was made by, and is owned by Warner Bros.

I would love to see Universal reissue both CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954) and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE (1953) in real polaroid 3-D in theaters again, and on DVD.
