MAY WYNN.......HOT

. . . she did look very nice in the Yosemite park sequence, and she had a nice dress on (no doubt, by Jean Louis) . . . however, I must agree with others that the whole love story thing in this film is as Bogart was reported to have said, "pointless."

She looked great in a low cut dress. But I have to disagree that the romance wasn't pointless to the movie. It was there to show Willie's growing up and becoming an independent man and a responsible Naval officer.

YES! i just said this a few minutes ago. the love story with may was fluff and unnecessary.

with that said, i think that movies of the 50's felt a need to present a positive, warm and fuzzy story even in a heavy hitting drama like caine mutiny. another thought--it drew the women in to have this romance. it would be interesting to see the trailer for caine mutiny. i bet that romance is front and center in the trailer to entice the ladies to watch.

i think it's possible that movies back then tried to appeal to women more than now. now it's all about the kiddos, pre-teens, and teens.

The "love story" was a significant part of the book and helped explain how much Willie lacked maturity. The whole subplot of the book was to show how Willie grew as a man, learing how to become an officer and a gentleman.

She sure was hot, cute face and the kind of body I love on women - if I had a time machine I'd go back to 1954 just so I could bang her!
