I think this movie is a prophecy... i believe today's Navy is lacking in standards, ethics, morality, and honesty... (unlike when i served)

Actually it was not the Caine.
If you recall, during the celebration scene after the conclusion of the court martial, Ensign Keith is speaking with May on the phone during which we says "I have a new ship and a new captain."
Later, the now Lieutenant Junior Grade Keith arrives at his new ship. As it departs from port, you can see the hull number is 786, not 18 which was the hull number of the Caine. So it cannot be the Caine and Commander DeVriess did not replace Queeg as Captain. He is commanding a different ship. Keith was not aware that DeVriess was his new Captain until he reported aboard. share
Recently received a written letter from an old NROTC pal who is now a Captain. I wrote back and asked him what he doing to change things in the Navy, like eliminating rogue Captains trying to make money illegally... (he never replied)
