Why did Harry decide not to leave Kirk and work with the other producers

One of the things that I couldn't quite understand about the plot of this great movie was why didn't Harry make the movie with one of the producers he invited to that screen test. If he despised Kirk so much, and he had the opportunity to leave him, why didn't he choose to make the movie with Maria with another producer?

That presupposes that the other producers would have him as their director.

Harry is a has-been, his career mostly over. He probably sees working for Kirk Edwards as a last chance to direct a major movie and get his career on track again.
