The 'Joyce' couple - reference to James Joyce?
François Truffaut called "Viaggio in Italia" the first film of the modern era. The couple of protagonists share the surname "Joyce", which is also shared with novelist James Joyce, one of the pioneers of the literary modernist movement.
Thoughts on this? Just a coincidence? Or Rossellini knew beforehand that with this work he was transposing the modernism to the silver screen, leaving us this clue?
