Great film
This shows the end of an era when many families and individuals lived on barges in the East River or the Hudson on the other side of Manhattan.
From the scenes on the barge showing the Brooklyn Bridge out the window this would have been located just North of where the South Street Seaport is today which was next to the Fulton Fish Market.
