Picture in Moe's room?
There is a brief scene of a picture in a frame in Moe's room...it looks remarkably like Lilian Gish? Anybody notice that? Any thoughts?
shareOh, my gosh, someone who thinks like me and notices every little thing in a film. I too, noticed the photograph but my thought was wouldn't it have been clever if it was a photo of Thelma Ritter herself as a young woman...you never know...the director may have asked Thelma to furnish a pic to give Moe's room a bit of authenticity.

shareI guess what you could do is if you recorded the film, you could pause that scene with the photo and analyze it carefully and then Google Lillian Gish and see if it's a match, I haven't Googled for any of Thelma Ritter's photos as a younger woman but it is amazing what is out there on the internet. I once downloaded a picture of Lucille Ball as a toddler (so cute- with a big bow in her hair and a teddy bear too), and have it in an antique frame. When people ask about who the child is I tell them it is an old relative from way back when but them I tell them it is really Lucille Ball herself.
