Amazing!


I think this movie's absolutely incredible. Probably the best 50's crime film (of film noir, if that's how you wanna put it) ever made. Great, great stuff.

It was a fantastic movie, I really enjoyed it. Thelma Ritter really shined, but I loved Richard Widmark in it.

He was so good. I had never seen Jean Peters looking so glammed up, she looked like Ava Gardner a bit.

Interesting. I thought it was a snoozefest, I really couldn't get into it. I finished it because it picked up at the end with the "one shot" that took me by surprise (right before the dumbwaiter part)...

and I agree, the film was really well made, well acted, everything.

But the story bored me to tears, not at all what I was expecting, even after reading the back of the DVD a couple times. I felt no chemistry between kandy/candy and the pickpocket either.
